Swim Center Fees2023-09-01T00:00:00Beginning September 1, 2023, the City Council adopted fees for the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year will be implemented at the Swim Center.
The Swim Center is excited about a big change to the Annual Passes (Fitness, Masters and Masters+). All Annual Passes are now valid on City Holidays! Previously, no passes were allowed to be used on Holidays and instead every swimmer pays a $10 Resident or $12 Non-Resident fee. Starting 9/1/23, as an additional benefit to the Annual Pass, you can use it for City Holidays including Labor Day, Veteran's Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and many more. Swim Center Holiday Hours Labor Day2023-09-04T07:00:00On Labor Day, Monday 9/4/23, the El Cerrito Swim Center will have Holiday Hours from 7am-12pm. Hours are for Fitness Swim only including Lap Swim, Water Walking, and Independent Exercise. No Masters, Gators, Water Aerobics, rECswim, or Swim Lessons. Rates are $10 Resident and $12 Non-Resident. The 15-Punch and 30-Day Pass are NOT valid on Holidays.
NEW! The Annual Pass can now be used on City Holidays!
Splash Park will also be open from 7am-12pm. Price is $5 per person ages 7 years and under with their parent/guardian/caregiver.

Baxter Creek Gateway Park Volunteer Day2023-09-10T10:00:00Please join City staff and other volunteers at Baxter Creek Gateway Park in this jewel on the Ohlone Greenway. The activities will include litter removal, invasive plant removal and native plant care. All ages are welcome (under 13 with guardian). All participants must complete a Volunteer Registration Form before working. Please wear long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. You may also want to bring a water bottle to use while you are working. The City will provide tools, bags, gloves, and sanitizer. There are no bathrooms at the park. We will meet at 10am at Conlon Ave and the Ohlone Greenway. RSVP by email or phone is appreciated.

California Coastal Clean-up Day at Baxter Creek Gateway Park2023-09-23T09:00:00Join your fellow community member volunteers in protecting the waters of Baxter Creek, San Francisco Bay and the California Coast by removing litter from entering the storm drains in this annual pre-rainy season event. Participants from all along the California Coast will be working together on this day to clean-up and prevent trash from polluting the Pacific Ocean. Participants should wear sturdy closed-toed shoes. All volunteers under 18 years of age are required to have completed a waiver with a parent or guardian’s signature.

http://el-cerrito.org/1642/Play-Like-a-GirlThe City of El Cerrito Recreation Department will host its first annual Play Like a Girl+ event on Sunday, September 24th, 2023 from 9am-1pm. The event aims to build upon AB 2404, which was signed into California law to expand opportunities for girls to play sports in community parks and recreation. The goal of Play Like a Girl+ is to introduce girls+ in grades 2-6 to a variety of sports in a fun-filled setting as well as provide encouragement and resources for long-term involvement in athletics. The event will take place at the El Cerrito Community Center and Cerrito Vista Park, and is free to participants though advance registration is required. After a welcome from the keynote speaker, participants will get to experience two athletic sessions in which they are introduced to a sport that interests them, as well as visit booths of local sports clubs and teams. Registration will open on Thursday, August 10th at noon. At the time of registration, girls+ will be provided a list of sports being featured at the event, and will choose their top 3. Assignments will be provided closer to the event.
