Currently, practice will be on Monday & Friday 6:45pm-8:30pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday 6:45pm-8pm, and Wednesday 3:15pm-4:15pm. Evening Water Aerobics will be cancelled beginning Thursday 2/10 and evening Fitness will share with ECHS Swim Team. The pool will be closing early on Wednesdays at 3:15pm, but will remain open until 4:15pm every other weekday.
These times are subject to change, please visit www.el-cerrito.org/swimcenter for the most up-to-date times.
Due to low enrollment and El Cerrito High School Swim Team starting practice at the El Cerrito Swim Center, evening Water Aerobics classes will be cancelled beginning Thursday February 10th through May. The last class will be Tuesday February 8th taught by Alison.
The Swim Center works hard to keep you informed of changes to the schedule whenever possible. The schedule is posted online, at the swim window, and in the message board as you walk into the Swim Center. During Spring, we will be hosting multiple classes, including Lifeguarding and Swim Lessons, on top of interviewing Lifeguard staff and training our own staff. We will do our best to keep you informed when lanes will be used and when, however there may be some times that we will not know before hand. Most of these classes and trainings only take a lane or two, and if you are swimming in a lane that is needed, we will try to inform you about 30 minutes before we close that lane. We are asking for your patience during this time, especially as it gets warmer and more people want to enjoy the pool.
Thank you, Swim Center Staff
On Sundays from March 20th through June 19th, Special Olympics Northern California will be practicing at the Swim Center. They will be using the first three lanes of the Emery G. Weed III Lap Pool, including the shallow lane, from 10am-12:15pm.
Please join City staff and other volunteers at Baxter Creek Gateway Park in this jewel on the Ohlone Greenway. The activities will include litter removal, invasive plant removal and native plant care. All ages are welcome (under 18 with guardian). All participants must complete a Volunteer Registration Form before working. Please wear long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. You may also want to bring a water bottle to use while you are working. The City will provide tools, bags, gloves, and sanitizer. There are no bathrooms at the park. We will meet at 10am at Conlon Ave and the Ohlone Greenway. RSVP by email or phone is requested.

This year will also include virtual events for a hybrid festival. The El Cerrito Trail Trekkers are also developing a backup plan in case the pandemic worsens. But if all goes well – see you in the hills! The festival is free and features bird, animal, plant hikes, history events, and more. Details can be found in the attached brochure.
The Economic Development Committee meets on the 3rd Monday of the month remotely via Zoom. Click on the "Download Agenda" button to view the agenda.
