What's New? Green Happenings in El Cerrito

El Cerrito's "Living Lightly" Campaign Go 100% Renewable!

Sign up for 100% Renewable Energy

The City of El Cerrito created a Living Lightly team to encourage our community to opt-up to Deep Green 100% renewable energy through our local electricity provider, MCE.

Deep Green costs just a penny more per kilowatt-hour, or less than $5/month for the average household. And, it's easy to sign up using this online form. Select El Cerrito under "Team Name" to help El Cerrito meet it's goals for the Living Lightly challenge.

If you are already a Deep Green customer, consider signing up again on the Living Lightly webpage and your sign up will be counted toward our team's progress.

This campaign follows upon the City of El Cerrito Environmental Quality Committee's 2017 100x100 campaign, asking residents and businesses to shift to 100% renewable energy for the City's 100th Anniversary. In 2017, the City also opted up all of its municipal accounts to Deep Green. Please join the City and help El Cerrito meet its goal to increase the share of the community using 100% renewable energy! Sign up today!

For more information, visit MCE's Living Lightly page, or contact City staff at
