The Successor Agency to the El Cerrito Redevelopment Agency was formed in February 2012 pursuant to California Assembly Bill ABx1 26 (the Dissolution Act), which dissolved all redevelopment agencies in the State of California.

The Dissolution Act requires that there shall be an oversight board established for each former California redevelopment agency’s successor agency.
