Truth & Reconciliation Listening Sessions – Anti-Asian American Racism 

On April 14, 28, May 12, 26, June 9 and 23 from 6:30-8:00pm, the El Cerrito Human Relations Commission will be hosting a series of listening sessions focused on the Asian American experience during COVID-19 to open space to witness, celebrate and better understand the strengths and struggles of El Cerrito’s Asian American Community. As the COVID-19 global April 2, 2021 3 pandemic has, through false political narrative, directed causative responsibility toward the Asian American Community, hate crimes against individuals of Asian decent has drastically increased. The City of El Cerrito and the Human Relations Commission stand united against hate and holds the rising violence against Asian Americans as intolerable acts against humanity.
